Here is a quiz for all of you desktop umpires out there:

Situation:
With a runner on 3rd, the batter hits a sharp ground ball to the shortstop. The shortstop holds the runner at 3rd and hurries the throw to 1st. The first baseman is pulled to the colored portion of 1B"s double safety bag by the shortstop"s hurried throw which beats the batter to the base. The first baseman quickly throws home stopping the 3b runner, who hurries back to 3b. The catcher having no play at 3b, sees the batter advancing to 2b. He throws the ball to 2b, catching the second baseman by surprise and the ball ends up in right center field which allows both the 3b runner and the batter to score. The fielding team"s coach protests that the batter by running to 2b and drawing the throw after he was out is offensive interference and that the umpire should call the 3b runner out as well. The Plate Umpire agrees and calls both the 3b runner and the batter out. The batting team"s coach has a fit and "requests" that the Plate Umpire confer with the Field Umpire.
